Now, you can have your teeth in one day!
Implants historically have been a lengthy process, but we
now have sophisticated and predictable procedures to accomplish
in a few hours what used to take one year!
That's right! We literally can take
you from needing an extraction, to the extraction, to bone
graft, to implant and temporary crown all in a day!
Even in advanced cases where several or all of the teeth
need to be removed, Dr. Ross can deliver this amazing solution.
We are not talking about uncomfortable removable denture like
appliances. Dr. Ross can deliver fixed crowns that you do
not have to remove at night!

Bone Regeneration
With missing teeth, over time, the jawbone atrophies or is
reabsorbed. As a result, there is normally poor quality and
an inadequate quantity of bone suitable for placement of dental
implants. In the past, this rendered many patients unsuitable
as candidates for dental implants.
We now have the ability to grow bone . . . where needed.
This gives us the opportunity to place implants while properly
gauging their length and width. It also affords us the opportunity
to more effectively restore esthetic appearance and functionality.
Loss of jawbone is not a result of age or "father time."
One loses bone when teeth are removed and the spaces are left
vacant. The bone reabsorbs due to lack of stimulation. Dental
implants change that.
When implants are used to replace
lost teeth or anchor dentures, bone loss does not continue.
Elderly patients need not be forced to live with a "sunken
face" when their dentures are removed. Implants are a
great alternative.
Note: Bridgework that replaces teeth or dentures that merely
rests on gum tissue is not sufficient to prevent the loss
of jawbone. The key here is resting. There is no benefit from
resting on the tissue.
With implants, we offer bone regeneration. Please read "socket
preservation".
As a replacement for missing teeth and as a result of their
many benefits, implants should be offered as the first
option
while bridgework and dentures should be the second
option
offered by dentists.
Socket Preservation/Grafting
The "gold standard".
Today when teeth are extracted, the empty space or socket
is filled with material to promote natural bone growth. Careful
management of extraction sockets prevents unsightly bone loss
and yields a better cosmetic outcome when opting for teeth
replacement.
This process allows patients who are considering future implants,
an opportunity to generate bone growth in order to retain
dentures or work toward the ultimate goal of dental implants.
As a bonus, this technique encourages the patient's body
to heal. Instead of extracting a tooth and waiting
for the body to do all the work, Dr. Ross places
bone filler in the empty spaces, affording the patient a chance
to become stronger and allowing the body to fight infection
and combat immunosuppressive issues.
We've come a long way with options and choices for missing
teeth. Your smile can be better than before . . . with a new
set of teeth.
