Fixed Restorations

Patient presents with long standing edentulous area in the esthetic zone. Patient has been wearing removable “flipper” for the appearance of a tooth. Note the irregularly large size of the edentulous area. And the fact that the adjacent teeth are virgin teeth the patient prefers not to have prepared (“cut down”) for a bridge. |

Patient presents with a removable prosthesis (“flipper”) he has been wearing since the extraction several years ago. |

A single implant is placed atraumatically. Note that the healing screw for the implant is left exposed for cleaning purposes and so that a second stage surgery is not required. The patient is able to wear original “flipper” during healing phase of 6 weeks.

An abutment is place into the implant. No local anesthesia or second surgery is required. |

The implant is restored with a single implant crown without disturbing the adjacent uninvolved teeth. Note the color and shape matching by the laboratory. Because of the large edentulous space the patient requested that the space between the two front teeth be restored to its original dimension. |
