Anesthesia Options
We offer several different anesthesia options for your periodontal
and implant therapy comfort. They include local anesthetics,
laughing gas (nitrous oxide), oral sedation (via pills or
tablets), and conscious sedation. There are countless different
types of local anesthetics on the market today. Dr. Ross will
discuss your options with you and decide upon the best course
of anesthesia for you and your comfort.
Dr. Ross is licensed to practice Conscious Sedation for sleep
dentistry. This is provided for patients who request a more
definitive sedation. As opposed to general anesthesia where
you are completely asleep and need assisted breathing, IV
sedation allows you to breathe on your own and respond to
the doctor's requests during treatment.
A family member or friend will need to drive you from your
periodontal and implant therapy to your home. Please make
these arrangements prior to your appointment.
*Dr. Ross may need clearance from your physician for any
of the above mentioned anesthesia options.*
